Systems and strategy for innovation at scale.
Psychologically informed consulting for growing organizations building products that shape how people work, lead, and thrive.
The human side of growth belongs at the center of your strategy.
Rapid growth creates opportunity - and exposes every gap in how an organization leads, communicates, develops, and makes decisions. The strongest organizations do more than react to growth after they scale. They intentionally shape the behaviors, systems, and shared understanding that growth requires from day one.
Sagelight brings together behavioral science, organizational experience, and a practical startup mindset to help teams work towards ambitious goals without losing sight of the people responsible for achieving them.
What We Offer
Sagelight consults primarily with small to medium size organizations in the tech and healthcare sectors, though we consider projects of all shapes and sizes.
-
A company can grow from a few people solving problems together to hundreds of employees before its people systems have had time to catch up. New managers are promoted because they are excellent at the work. Informal decisions become cross-functional dependencies. Values that once felt obvious begin to mean different things to different people.
Sagelight helps organizations navigate these inflection points with leadership development programs for your growing team, and implementation of values models rooted in your organization’s growing culture, specific enough to change behavior and motivate the workforce, and flexible enough to evolve with the needs of the business.
Sagelight can support organizations through moments such as:
Growing from a small, founder-led team into a more structured organization
Preparing first-time managers to build healthy, accountable teams
Navigating reorganization, rapid hiring, a shift in strategy, or a period of transformation
Protecting employee well-being and sustainable performance during periods of volatility
Clarifying culture as the organization becomes larger, more distributed, or more complex

Products focused around behavioral health, learning and development, and workplace effectiveness are called to meet a particularly high bar for success. Products must be useful and engaging, but they also need conceptual integrity: a credible explanation for how the experience is expected to help and a clear understanding of the people using it.
Sagelight provides subject-matter expertise, product advising, and research support to help teams make more informed choices from early concept to every iteration at scale.
Ways we consult and advise organizations:
Framework and model development
Identify or refine the psychological frameworks, behavior-change principles, and mental models that ground the product experience.
Product and workflow review
Evaluate key journeys, features, and interactions for usability, psychological coherence, and alignment with intended outcomes.
Content and marketing review
Strengthen the clarity and accuracy of user-facing content and ensure that product language reflects what the experience can meaningfully support.
User research
Design and conduct exploratory or evaluative research to understand user needs, test assumptions, and assess whether the product is engaging, relevant, and effective.
-
When an organization is at a critical juncture or going through a transformation, meeting the moment strategically can make all the difference. A thoughtfully designed talk or facilitated session can introduce a shared language, bring energy and credibility to an important initiative, or help a group engage with a complex issue in a more useful way.
Dr. Parker offers one-time and short-form engagements that combine psychological insight with clear, practical application. Each experience is adapted to the audience, context, and outcome the organization wants to create.

Organizations sometimes reach a point where an important function needs experienced leadership—but the need is still evolving, the internal expertise does not yet exist, or a permanent executive hire would be premature. Without clear ownership, critical work can become fragmented across teams, remain perpetually deprioritized, or move forward without a coherent strategy.
Dr. Parker can step into a fractional leadership role centered around scaling the organizational growth (e.g. Chief Wellness Officer) or the product (e.g. Head of Behavioral Science, Head of User Research) to provide both strategic direction and practical momentum. Depending on the organization’s needs, this may involve defining the function, setting priorities, leading cross-functional work, strengthening internal capabilities, and building the systems or team needed for longer-term success.
What fractional leadership may include:
Establishing a functional vision, strategy, and roadmap
Setting priorities and creating clear and measurable processes and systems
Serving as a thought partner to founders and executive leaders
Leading high-priority initiatives and cross-functional work
Advising and mentoring internal team members
Supporting hiring and capability development within the function
Preparing the organization to transition ownership to a permanent leader
The right level of partnership for the problem at hand.
Focused advising
Hourly consulting for targeted questions, expert review, decision support, or a defined set of working sessions.
Project-based partnership
A scoped engagement with clear outcomes, such as a manager-development program, values and behaviors model, research initiative, or product strategy workstream.
Extended collaboration
Ongoing support for complex or evolving needs. Depending on the engagement, Dr. Parker may collaborate with other trusted consultants to bring in complementary expertise.
Standalone engagements
Single session workshops or speaking engagements to meet the moments that matter.
Past Project
Heard
Heard, which today offers bookkeeping and financial services for therapists, began as a therapist-client matching service. In initial prototypes, the product was heavily focused on the therapy-seeker side of the experience. Heard wanted to create a greater sense of community amongst the therapists using the platform and develop a better sense of their needs and pain points. Dr. Parker was brought on to conduct generative research to guide the development of the therapist-facing side of the product.
